It's finally fall!

So, it's finally cooled off a bit and I've been able to wear my beloved black turtleneck sweater that I mentioned at the end of this post here

I love sweaters.  They hid a multitude of sins, don't you think?

With that being said, I need some fall inspiration.  I need a little encouragement to get me moving.  I need a little pick-me-up.  I feel like at any moment, fall is going to fade back into 100-degree days at the pool.  That's the down side to living in southern California: fall and winter aren't clearly defined.

So what's your trick to getting ready for fall?

Is it decorating your house?

Is it a recipe like my mom's coveted truffles?  Because I made a batch and it just didn't feel right for me yet.

Maybe these will help?

Is it a drink like eggnog or Pike's Place coffee?  Lord knows I've tried that too.

It didn't really help.
Is it a place you go with your family every year?  I keep hearing about this Oak Glen tradition...enlighten me?

Is it something you only wear in cold months like my soft, black turtleneck?

Tell me!  I'd love to try it out and see if it finally kicks my butt into the mood for this season.  Before you know it, it'll be Christmas and I'd hate to have missed a whole season!

What really helps me is bringing the coats and scarfs to the front of the closet. And decorating the house in the fall decorations. Oh, and planning Halloween costumes!!

I love my sweaters. It reminds me I have until next summer to get in shape! haha There is a different smell about Fall, like fresh trees and smoky fireplaces.

Scarves! Thanks Tara! I'm gonna get those out now!

And yes, they are from my cool new app. But I used my phone this morning for some house updates and I think I'll post those this week too!

Oak Glen is my thing...the smell of pine in the air and fresh apples on the trees. I have to stop for apples and cider...someone is baking apple pies or dumplings nearby, so I smell cinnamon - not strong, but just enough to excite me about late fall and winter baking.

I love sweaters too.

I usually get harvest smelling candles to get me in the fall mood.
