DO Something!

Do you snack on yogurt in the afternoon?  I do.

Do you eat yogurt for breakfast when you don't feel like cooking?  I do.

Do you eat yogurt as a late night snack instead the big bowl of ice cream the Big Mike is chowing down on?  I do.  I only whine a little bit when I do it!

Yogurt is an excellent source of Vitamin A, Vitamin D, and Calcium not to mention the fact that even the low fat or non fat versions are creamy, sweet and delicious.

You can eat some by itself or use it as a dip for fruits and vegetables.

You can top it off with choclate chips, almond slivers, or oatmeal.

Just about every week in my Los Angeles times, there is a coupon for Yoplait yogurts (which happen to be one of my favorites because of all of the different flavors!).  Not to mention that just about every weekend, there is a sale going on at your local grocery store that makes these sweet treats more affordable.  This week, Albertson's had them at the low cost of only $5 for 10 individual yogurts.  That's only 50 cents per snack, which is alright in my budget!

If you're on a "points budget" or concerned about Weight Watchers points, Yoplait light varieties weigh in at only 2 points per serving.  Once again, these things fit in my budget perfectly!

Sold?  Going to go buy some Yoplait yogurt right this very second?  Now here's your challenge:  DO something!

That's right!  It's time for Yoplait's annual Save Lids to Save Lives drive.  It's this easy:
-->You buy yogurt that you would already buy.
-->It has a pink lid.
-->You wash the lid off and mail it back to them.
-->Yoplait donates 10 cents for every lid recieved to Susan G Komen for the Cure.

Did you get all that?

Good.

Now go practice it.

I sent an email out at work on Monday telling my co-workers about it and offering to mail their pink Yoplait lids in for them, free of charge.  By Wednesday, I had filled a cup full of lids at my desk.  Who knows what I'll fill by next week???

If you don't want to mail in the lids, I'll do it for you.  Just hand them to me when you see me.

(That is of course, if you actually know me and you aren't a visitor to my blog.  But in any case, I'd mail in a stranger's lid if they asked me to.  That's just the kind of gal I am.)

If you're scratching your head and wondering why I'm so pumped about this promotion, it's because we're all affected by this horrible disease and organizations like Yoplait and Susan G Komen for the Cure are doing amazing things about it.  You could attribute it to me being a Zeta Tau Alpha, but the truth is that my Grandmother triumphed over breast cancer and became a survivor long before I put on my turquoise blue and steel grey.  I celebrate her battle and success every single day and I am grateful that she is still around at 87-years young.  I hope I can be so lucky.

Think Pink!

If I cut out the coupons, give them to you with some money, will you buy the yogurt, eat the yogurt, and send in the lids for me? I admire you, but I'm yogurted out after years of dieting on it.

Mom, it's fine. Just don't eat yogurt. No need to try to buy more, I have about 10 at the moment.
